The AVI PF-403 is a miniature line-array speaker system based upon our proprietary 110mm (4.4") wide-range driver, designed for excellent sound quality and high output. The advanced transducers feature cast aluminium chassis, treated paper cones using damped-roll suspensions, resin impregnated HF radiators, and integral phase-plugs. The moving assemblies are driven by 35mm (1.4") edgewound aluminium ribbon voice coils in narrow gaps, using massive magnets. Three of these advanced 110mm transducers combine to provide remarkably satisfying sound quality and generous output ability and wide horizontal dispersion, in a very compact package. The rugged all-aluminium enclosure is sealed for environmental protection, with recessed Speakon NL4 input and output connectors, creating a small, lightweight and reliable speaker system, for touring or installed sound systems. Three threaded inserts are provided on the back panel, and mounting brackets are provided.
The PF-403 system dramatically outperforms competitive small array speakers, without the need of 'digital controllers' or electronic aids. Such high sensitivity, and articulate vocal definition are rarely found in speakers of such diminutive dimensions. The AVI PF-403 is styled to be architecturally neutral, includes mounting hardware, and may be painted to blend discretely into any decor. For dance music playback, one or more AVI SW-380 subwoofers can be added to the sound system to provide extended low-bass output.
AVI loudspeakers are hand built in our own facility in Canada, using the finest components available, with sound quality as the primary design criterion.
